Indian Rice Factory

This is a resto that gets a lot of press time, up in the Upper Annex. Went there as a friend was really having a butter chicken moment. Had the rice pilao (spelt that way in their menu), but I must say, they do have a very silky and rich butter chicken.... which is quite something for me to say, considering that saying "butter" in butter chicken makes me have an avoidance reflex...

Bombay Bhel

This is a small Indian restaurant just north of downtown Mississauga, in a strip mall north of the 403. Went there with about nine Indian people, so I figured they must be onto something. I think they were right. Had some channa masala and naan bread and finished with some kheer.... though they could've done something more than had the kheer seem like congee with some pistachios on it, the main course was actually quite nice, with a warm heat from the chickpeas.... mmmm

urbanthai

OK, why would one go to a Thai resto in Little Italy, when one is surrounded by gorgeous Italian food? That's a very good question, though I suppose the simple answer was that we needed something quick to grab to eat. Unsurprisingly, I got the pad thai, and we also ordered some red curry... mmmm, there is something very comforting about spicy coconut milk... and it was OK, and we got our service quick, and still managed to get out on time too.... lovely...
